To start with first the zombie killer runs only in half section. It doesn't comes in the lower part. Hence not able to collect any power or kill zombies in that part. Secondly, when the boss comes then there is no way the killer cannot reach near to it to kill him. Thirdly, the jump and fire button area is big that even when you scroll your finger up or press in the area next to the jump button or prior to fire button the the killer jumps or fires.
