Live view doesn't load and can only view in event history. When someone rings the door bell there's a lag from when I receive the notification on my phone. Great concept but the app needs A LOT of updates for the price paid for the actual product. Might consider returning it if the app doesn't improve.

Jeremy Thomas: It's okay, but it definitely needs improvements. The majority of the time the app won't let me answer when someone rings my door bell, Live view takes a Ridiculous amount of time to load, and I can never jump ahead when reviewing recorded videos. This is just not acceptable for what you pay for a devices like this. This is on top of the three issues I have with false alarms from cars driving by and my battery draining like crazy. Ring is a good concept with a bad experience.

marc berry: Device is great. When it works well it's brilliant. Unfortunately, when someone rings or it senses motion, there's some delay if your phone is on data rather than the same wifi network as the doorbell. Customer service has been excellent in helping sort an audio issue.

: Major issue is that the vertical field of view of the Pro model is too narrow....faces of anyone over about 5'6" ringing the bell are cut off. I measure the vertical field of view of the camera lens at only about 90 degrees. Previous Ring model was substantially higher.

: App is buggy. Alerts keep dropping off. Right now it won't let me log in. Friends and relatives have expressed interest in Ring & I don't recommend it because it's so unreliable

Earl Everett: Sometime it's okay sometimes it's not. I had a power outage and now I have to reinstall it again. This is very pointless and time-consuming. They are having a lot of issues lately

Doug Alway: I thought this update would fix the issue of viewing the live view on the pixel XL. However, still won't connect when someone rings the Bell or I try to live view. If I'm home and connected to the same WiFi the ring is on, everything works great. Frustrating when I'm away from home though. I can watch recorded view just no live interaction. App and service works great on my wife's S6.

Joseph Jaynes: App use to work perfectly. Recent update now has answered motion showing black screen (with UI buttons) 50% of the time. Will change rating back once it's fixed.

Richard Clark: Good app, would be better if it used geofencing to turn on ring notifications when you leave the house. Alternatively, a widget to toggle notifications in or off.

: This is the fifth time ive had to this bell to reset in less than 2 days. Sometimes it show black and white another it just a black screen i want someone to sort this out or refund back my year subscription

Td Jack: Pretty good needs a stronger battery the app says the battery lasts one year not true mines at 50% only had it for 24 days

Alan Malagon: 720P it's OK. Will return back not great video.

Efraim Silver: Fantastic Very happy with this product does exactly a advertised

Dustin Lagrange: Update wipes out login.

T-Rex K: Great way to communicate !

Tammy Thresher: Amazing customer service.

Chad Swords: Sometimes has a delay but works decently

Julian Moulton: Awesome app great security device

: Oh my. Sometimes it works, most times it does not. Customer support is really sweet and understanding. Appears this is just not quite there yet unfortunately. I am dealing with the black screens and no connection. I have no issues at all with the other dozen wifi devices in the house. Even have the router close by the bell WITH the Pro extender, but issues persist every day. Cannot really rely on it for protection or security. Just a toy at this point. Hopefully future of this device and company is more promising with non stop reliability. Promising but disappointing. Keep tying Ring! JZ

Chris Kennedy: Android version's Bluetooth is broken. When my phone is connected to ANY car system (as is the law everywhere) and there's motion at the Ring Doorbell, my phone starts to dial itself, and won't stop dialing until the motion at the door goes away. A seriously major fail, since Ring Tech Supports only answer so far is "turn off notifications while connected to Bluetooth", which of course defeats the entire purpose of an away-from-home notification system. It's been like this since installed, five months ago. Apparently the iOS app is fine :( My email, sms, gmail, FB, even Nasa apps ALL send a notification alert while connected to Bluetooth WITHOUT triggering my phone to dial itself in a loop. It ain't rocket science, RING, so let's get this fixed before someone breaks into my house while I'm in the car.

Kendo L: Got the Ring Pro yesterday. Set it up with no problems. However, as soon as I leave my house I would lose the live view function. I am not sure why. It works while I am at home. Wifi connection is good. I have a Samsung Galaxy S7 Edge. Is it a problem with android?? Please help. An update to my previous review. Received call from Ring's customer service. The agent guided me how to change to protocol of my cell phone in order to enable the Live View to function while i am not on WIFI. Awesome service!! Problem has been resolved! Thank you!

Tristan Schirmann: Im reading the negative comments and I feel I need to share my experience. I had issues getting my ring doorbell working reliably. The very nice and responsive tech support very patiently kept telling me my device was too far. It wasn't and I was being stubborn. Then after another tech support kept telling me that I took my phone, put it next to my ring doorbell and BOOM ultra weak connection. Actually the fact that the device was laying on the wall the signal got weak. I installed a chime pro closer to the doorbell and worked better. Then I added an small 15' angle corrector they're selling and BOOM great signal. The fact that the unit is not laying on the wall plus the chime pro it now works very well. Another thing I notice I use a fixed DNS on my router and the ring chime pro/doorbell didn't like that. If you're not on automatic DNS and are having issues then fix that! I'm now very happy with the ecosystem and the tech team at ring is absolute awesome, best in class!

Diana Compo: This would be an awesome app, but it doesn't work while your phone is connected to an android watch. Have had the ring for over a year, recent updates suddenly had my phone freezing once someone rang the bell. Spent two hours on phone with tech support, discovered that having my Huawei watch connected to my phone was the problem. Their solution, disconnect watch from phone. Seriously, this is the era of smart watches. Worked great with it before, changes must have excluded the Huawei watch or Samsung galaxy S7 phone. I have a smart watch for a reason as do many folks.

Andy Ford: I think this app is buggy on my Galaxy Note 4. Whenever I go on live view or answer a ring, no matter what I set my phone's volume to, everything is whisper quiet. I spend my time asking people to speak up so I can hear them. When watching the video back, however, the volume is fine. It's just the live view that's faulty. However, on my wife's Sony phone, it works as expected. Not sure what to do, as at the moment I'm missing out on a pretty big feature. I also experience a pretty big lag. Saw someone going through my bin, but by the time I got the notification they were already walking away. Somehow the camera missed them walking up my driveway!

Stan Trinsey: I have 2 stick up cams. 1 of the cams works great, but the other one sucks.. tried all kinds of settings. Tried repositioning 3 times already.. the camera refuses to capture me from 5 feet away staring at it while waving my arms.. The camera has to be faulty, or the app stinks.

S. C.: Its ...ok. I have to click the mute button on and off to get the audio. Otherwise it cuts out after a few seconds. That makes it difficult to talk with someone at the door. Also you need to move your wireless router to right on the other side of the wall where it is located just to get a "good" connection. Then every time the wind blows the trees or a car goes by, it records. I have it on the lowest distance setting. It definitely still has bugs that need to be fixed.

April Feola: Needs improving. I constantly have to uninstall and install the app to get the app to work. Nothing but problems the past few months. Annoying. We have orbi for wifi which is one of the best and our live feed is constantly freezing. About to go back to my $10 doorbell and add an outdoor wireless cam. Probably better off. Customer service hasnt helped much

Bill Hensley: Thought I'd update my review seeing how I've been a customer for some time now... The Ring app continues to evolve and improve with every update. I remember when live view was first introduced I gave this app a 5 star rating. The Ring app continues to receive a 5 star rating from me as I've experienced little to no issues with Ring, the app, or the service. Any time there may have been a hiccup it's usually on my end wether it be low cell reception on my phone when I'm out and about or bandwidth issues at home because we're taxing our router too much. Ring has always been there when I needed it to be and I couldn't be happier with their service and products.

Frank Siepm: This app was working great. Now for the last month or two it is a disaster. It hangs, it does not connect, it even manages to have my phone render unresponsive. Please fix. I just paid for annual recording. And again, the app screwed me. I signed up before the end of the trial and my cc was charged just to find all my recordings to be deleted. Don't go down the path that other companies went....

Connie Mardis: Update - even less reliable now. Wont even open! Changed zones. Uninstalled & reinstalled. Made sure notifications are on. But hardly get anything any more unless we go out the door. If notification does come the video isn't available of what triggered it for 2-3 minutes. If answer motion only get live view missing what triggered it for too long to be responsive.

Matt Lauber: I have a RingPro. I'm semi reluctant to say that I'm no longer having issues for fear that they'll come back! I'm hoping and thinking they pushed a firmware or app update that fixed all this. It would be nice to be able to toggle night vision on/off/auto. It would also be nice to toggle motion notifications on/off based on if I'm present or not and not just by creating a set schedule.

Chee Yang: Works half the time. I know its not my internet speed, super fast dl speed and fast ul speeds. Notifications are just a single vibration on my phone and thats it. App dosent always want to load. I could have just spent the money on a cheap wifi camera system for the house and had better results.

Jack Mathis: Update... one more thing... it has a slow reaction time before it begins recording so that someone could come to your door, try the doorknob and walk in or walk away, and you'd never see who it was or maybe their back walking away, if that. Just installed and works but a few suggestions. 1) There's no way the app would let me enter my right address. It kept overriding with an address a few streets away. Gave up on getting it right. 2) Good luck getting the screws in the right place on a stucco mounting because that supplied drillbit wanders all over the place. You need to include two drillbits, one small sharp one for a starter hole and one to expand that hole. 3) Make the camera slightly adjustable for those who must do a sidewall mounting. Mostly I can only see the side of a person's face when I may need a mugshot.
