LagFix (fstrim) Premium Description

★ THIS APP REQUIRES ROOT! ★
★ WARNING! ★
Read FAQ before using! http://forum.xda-developers.com/showpost.php?p=37029420&postcount=122
Please try FREE version before buying: https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.grilledmonkey.lagfix
PREMIUM version adds an option to schedule regular data trim automatically – no need to launch the app every time.
Attention!
This app should only be used by ADVANCED users! If you do not understand what it does - DO NOT USE IT! You can find fstrim() man in Google and more information on XDA - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=2104326. RTFM before asking any questions or rating this app bad!
Some Android users suffer from poor performance after some days/weeks of heavy usage. This is due to a well-known TRIM bug affecting these devices (users report Nexus devices, Samsung Galaxy S3 and HTC One X devices are affected). Kernels with -discard mount option are NOT affected!
The source of the problem is that internal storage is not properly TRIMmed when needed. You can find lots of information on XDA - http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1971852 and http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1929021 It is also well-known fact that running fstrim Linux tool from time to time fixes the issue until internal memory runs out of free blocks. Other solutions like mounting with -discard or disabling fsync may be slow or dangerous.
LagFix is a user-friendly implementation of fstrim utility. It allows you to select which partitions to trim (you should leave defaults unless you know what you are doing) and run the process easily. Scheduled auto-trim is also available.
Please note that fstrim output depends on kernel and device. It works fine unless you see errors. You might see big amounts of bytes, zero amount or repeating amount. All are fine! Read fstrim manual to understand why all these outputs are valid.
Keep in mind that this app is designed for older devices and OS versions; if you device is not affected by trimming, it might already be implemented in the system.

Nexus 7 (original one, not the super cool new one) running a rom that has Halo=mucho laggo. This app works and works well. If your a N7 owner, buy this app. What a steal for a buck!

Tom Hartung: Abandoned? It worked great on Android <5.0, but since 2 years no update anymore, seems developer is not interested anymore to make it compatible with newer Android versions. So if below Android 5, you can buy it, if higher than Android 5, don't waste your money

Sorin Iulian: NOT working anymore on SGS 4 Android 5 samsung rom rooted Root and busybox available. # fstrim -v /data error: only position independent executables (PIE) are supported. It was working on old android, same phone. Another app is working: Trimmer (fstream) ..any have same issue go and grab it

Jason Weill: Perfect Thanks so much for this. I have an optimus g and running in eco mode made the phone stutter, now it runs smooth and I can keep it this way and save on battery.

Chris LeMarshall: Does not work on Lollipop, but there is a workaround. This app doesn't support Lollipop due to a new security feature introduced (PIE). I believe the developer could resolve this pretty easily, but in the meantime I managed to resolve my lag issues using the following steps. ============================================================== Please note that I will not be held responsible for any damage you may cause to your device. Proceed at your own risk. ============================================================== *Install Busybox *Install a terminal emulator *Issue the following commands using terminal (separated by '|' enter these commands separately): su | fstrim -v /data | fstrim -v /cache ..That's it. If you want this to run at regular intervals you can set up Tasker to issue these commands on a schedule for the same effect.

Daniel Smith: It works! My Galaxy Nexus was really lagging and now seems fine. I'm not brave enough to TRIM the system data though but it seems to work with standard settings.

Brandon Bates: Wow I am amazed at what this did to my Gnex. Ran lagfix and no lag.

Essin Singh: Works perfectly. Significantly less lag on my 2012 N7. Set up nightly fstrim schedules and everything going is gold. Well worth 99c. Thanks.

Mark Nealon: A godsend! The lagging on my GNex was getting really bad, and this has eliminated it almost completely. The only problem with this app is it will stop running if you use other apps while this is working. And then you have to restart. It's a minor inconvenience for a drastic improvement to my phone's performance though.

Alexey Klepikov: This is amazing app, it saved my SGS3 and lot of nerves! Helps to save device if it is constantly freezing.

Maxim Egorushkin: Does what it says on the tin Fixes lag superbly. I set it to run every night because i want to enjoy my Galaxy S3 as much as I can.

Olen Myhre: Razr Maxx 4.2 Issue Will not run on 4.2. I get an error message when I try to run it for the first time saying it doesn't have access to /data & /cache.

Vasilis Stathopoulos: I CANNOT BELIEVE IT BUT THIS APP HAS SAVED MY TAB AND PHONE!!! IT REALLY WORKS WAY BETTER THAN DESCRIBED...STILL CANNOT BELIEVE HOW MY DEVICES HAVE TRANSFORMED WITH THIS APP.

Josh Faber: Definitely worth the buck. Fstrim auto schedule is soooooo nice. Glad to support the dev

Alex Fong: Fixed my Galaxy Nexus Didn't quite believe it until I saw it. My Galaxy Nexus (4.2.1 stock takju image, rooted) had been getting slower and slower to the point where there was a 5 second pause whenever going to the stock launcher. Ran this once and it's like the phone is brand new again! Definitely worth the money (even though there's a free version).

Britta Pedersen: Big improvement My tf700 is now much faster. Installing crombi-kk helped a lot and lagfix provided just that extra speed. Before lagfix AndroBench Sequential Write values were 180,31MB/s. After running lagfix they were 215.06 MB/s. I went ahead and bought the premium version. Thanks so much :o)

Thomas Nieto: UI Please update the UI for tablets and landscape mode. The app works great but it's annoying when the screen is locked in portrait mode.

Liew Cheng Yeh: Works even on old phone I tried it on my old Desire HD (CM10.1+TWRP) & Sensation XE (CM10.2+TWRP)... i notice significant speed improvements and improve overall stability... *note: i tried running this on some china made clones. It sometime bricks/boot loops the phone. So be careful.

ray gravitt: 4.5 out of five. I'm rating it quickly because it helped me quickly. You can do this job manually in a couple of apps, but come on for a buck you can't beat it. Quick and clean.
