3) West Maui including Lahaina, Ka'anapali, Kapalua and Kahakuloa
4) Kihei, Wailea and Makena

** This app works OFF-LINE while you are touring. There is no need to have a network or wireless connection.
Once downloaded, this tour REQUIRES NO DATA to operate and activate, so you won’t incur roaming or data charges. YOU DO NOT REQUIRE A CELLULAR NETWORK CONNECTION TO TOUR!! You will not incur any data roaming charges to use this tour, even if you are from outside the USA. Works Off-line and with Data Roaming turned OFF.
Professional tour guides have filled the guide with interesting and entertaining stories, loads of tips and advice on what to do and will point out places of interest as you approach them. There are 456 commentary points as we drive tall over Maui. It’s just like driving around with a local expert.
Note that this tour does not have commentary on the "back side" of Haleakala. We do not provide commentary this way because most rental car companies do not allow their rentals cars to be taken on this route.
Just download the app on Wi-Fi from your network at home, your resort or use any free Wi-Fi network. Because the app is filled with audio commentary and maps, its larger than "normal" apps. Many phone/data networks will block the download because of size - so its IMPORTANT to download over a Wi-Fi network.
This tour is not just a directory but a designed tour to follow, just like how a tour guide would take you. It’s simple and entertaining; just let GyPSy provide commentary automatically as you travel.
GyPSy Guides are Hawaii's favorite drive touring apps.

++ Continued use of GPS running in the background increases battery usage - we strongly recommend taking a cigarette style (DC outlet) car charger.

dennis wygal: Travel Maui Loved this app. It took almost an hour to load the app. I have used the app two days now. It was very informative. One issue I encountered was it could get confused about what direction I was going. It would tell me what was coming up the other direction. At one point I was in very heavy slow traffic it would repeat the same thing over several times. A couple times it gave information about a place on the other side of the island. All these issues didn't spoil the app for me. Just normal computer type of g

ken jasko: Rarely worked App could not connect to GPS on lgg3. Google maps found our location in a minute but this app searched for many minutes, eating up battery life and never finding our location on road to hana.

Jay Lofstead: Best $10 travel information ever Entertainingly presented solid information. Coverage for the whole of the island for where people should be going. The opinions frequently had us laughing, but the recommendations are spot on. Will buy for any new location when traveling.

: Buy it, but know its features So its worth the buy. My family used it and was happy I had bought it. Its informative and fun. However the cons, its still worth the buy for your vacation. Cons, basically it works like this, keep gps on, use a heaphone audio cord for the rental car, and plug into a power supply. Don't expect to be able to use google maps or here maps for navigation or listen to music or use your phone for pictures. Plug in and let it talk to you. Its still good, obviously repetitive if you go over the same roads.

Jeremy Schultz: Excellent!! Added so much fun to our trip. Just get in the Jeep (take the top off) start the app and enjoy. The best $ we spent on Maui.

Sally VanWhy: Maui Fabulous!!! Great details, entertaining, and on point. Perfect road trip companion. Bought the Big Island version so we will be ready when we arrive there.

T Park: Best $10 I have spent for our Maui trip. Very comprehensive and entertaining. Totally worth the money.

Debbie Willis: Great commentary! Probably could use an update since the area and specifics change fairly quickly but overall a great travel companion!!

Mike D: Great app! This app was spot on the entire road to Hana. Spend the money. So much cheaper than paying someone else for a tour.

Tintinabulator Zea: Does this have the same road to hana as the road to hana app? I just made it 1 star to get my question seen. I think its a good app

Tabitha Mcculloch: Loved it! Best $10 I spent the whole trip The app have us great places to visit and very interesting Hawaiian history

judy eulitz: Very helpful so far Very helpful stuff such as, public parking on the right just before you enter the town of Paia. Yup, there was the parking lot alright. And shoreline access, and how to speak Hawaiian, to history on the Baldwin. Sugar plant and museum. Even what lane to be in to go to the Queen mall, or if it's Saturday and going to the Swap Meet stay in this lane. I wish I could see the names of the streets I can't get it to zoom. It would be perfect if it could do that.

wu ji xu: $10 well spent It is just like personal tour guide. Keep you informed and entertained along the way. The only thing I would suggest is to incorporate basic search/navigation function so user can get to an attraction at his choice quicker. Unless you have a separate GPS unit, it can be a challenge task if you use your phone as navigation tool as well.

Rick Kint: Best $10 I've ever spent Great app for driving through scenery as you just set it up and forget about it. Make sure you take a charger and an audio cable and keep your phone where it can see the GPS satellites. Pros: It tells you what you need to know when you need to know it. You don't need to keep your nose in a guidebook. It has useful local knowledge and history mixed in with the travelog. Cons: It loses your location sometimes, even when Maps has it. This got annoying. I took a star off for that, but this is still a five star review because I added a bonus star for being so darn useful. We used this all over Maui: up and down Haleakala, around West Maui to the Nakalele blowhole, the road to Hana to Kipahalu, and driving around South Maui. This app definitely enhanced the trip. We took some side trips that we would not have taken otherwise and saw some great sights. The app saved us some aggravation by pointing us to the correct parking areas and turnouts.

Gabe Ausiello: If you're on Maui, buy this. Plain and simple. I feel the need to add a review to this app, as there are not many, and was reluctant to pay so much for an app because of that. I do not regret paying almost $10 for this app at all after using it on the road to Hana. It works flawlessly, and give more information than I could have imagined. GREAT tour guide replacement. I only wish I'd purchased it earlier to use on other parts of the island. If you're adventurous, and driving around Maui, you will love this app. Get it!

Jeff McGuire: Like having your own personal guide This was the best money I spent on Maui. I live on the Big Island and one of the things that irritates locals is visitors not knowing the "ways" of the island. This guide actually gives you great and accurate information right along with how not to make a local mad. I loved the historical info and the cultural explanations as well. They did a fantastic job talking about the stories and the myths as well as pointing out what to see and do. This is a must have for any visitor to Maui. Mahalo Nui Loa.

Ravi Gunewardena: Absolutely Amazing I have a droid DNA. And on my honeymoon, I bought this app and plugged my phone into the cars sound system and it was amazing. Set it to GPS tour and it tells you where to stop, where not to stop, cultural significance behind a particular site and the history behind it. We feel like Maui experts after listening to this for 2 weeks. It is a steal for the price. I would easily pay double! If you are going to Maui, this app is a must. It makes you appreciate everything you are looking at a lot more.

Sherri Watt: Very awesome app! We downloaded this app before taking the road to hana. It was very informational and right on track! Almost better than navigation. The 1 and only complaint I have; hence the 4 star instead of 5, the informational speaking cuts off before the guy is done talking. Leaving you not knowing the rest of the story. Other than that, this was/is a great app and we'll worth the $10.

Chris S.: Great App! This is the only app i've ever purchased, and I'm glad I did. It was a great tour guide when we were on the Road to Hana, and at Haleakala. In addition, it was helpful with some navigation around the island and gave lots of information on things to do, history, etc. I didn't give it 5 stars for a two reasons. First, it "force stopped" about 8 times during our 10 day vacation. Second, there is WAY too much information on the mythology, gods, and former kings/queens and their sex lives. I honestly don't care about the story of a sharkman who ate people in the village. For non-attraction information I would rather receive information on where the best restaurants are, how to get back to my hotel, the demographics of Hawaii, geography, weather, economics, politics, tourism statistics, fun things to do, places to avoid, etc. It was also annoying that the text stays ultra small, and if you zoom in it adjusts back to tiny size. We did not have a problem hearing the tour guide voice from the phone with windows closed. Overall, I highly recommend this App for anyone that will be in Maui.

Darren Crowley: Awesome app!!!!! Must have in Maui This will be the best $9 you will spend in Maui. It is like having a tour guide without riding on a crampped bus. We had had it on whenever we drove maui. Pointed out stuff, tells you where to turn, park, stop. Gives history about HI. The road to hana portion alone was awesome. Once downloaded you don't need cell service works with gps. The accuracy was perfect, telling you ahead of time. Just get the app, you will not be disappointed.

John Busco: Sights & Stories Really Add to Maui Road Trip My family really enjoyed this app while driving around Maui. Originally I was searching for a "Road to Hana" guide, hoping for something like the cassette or CD audio tours of old. When I saw this well-reviewed full Maui guide for $10, I sprung for it. We got off to a bad start. The first two times I started the app, it crashed! I started thinking about how to get my money back. On the third try, it worked and we never had problems again. I REALLY like the integration of the audio information with the GPS. It's a great application of what a smart device can do, because the information is provided at just the right time, no matter how fast or slow you're driving or how many times you've stopped. It just works. The information itself was very interesting and useful. On the way out to Hana, we were directed to an arboretum and a small coastal town that we wouldn't have found otherwise. And on our way back, we heard some history of Hawaii. The whole family enjoyed the information. Once improvement would be to provide (Hawaiian) music between the spoken programs. Otherwise, you just have silence, as you don't want to switch to the radio and miss the next spot.

Arden Albert: Really good guide I highly recommend this app. It provided excellent, timely tips and commentary such as which sights to definitely see and which can be missed if you are short on time. I purchased an inexpensive audio cable so that the sound could be run through the car's audio system (it did not have Bluetooth). Otherwise no one would have been able to hear it. I would have given it 5 stars but it stopped working on a few occasions after visiting some spots and had to be reset. Overall , I'm very glad we had it along.

Nivi Thadasina: Great Virtual Guided tour We discovered this app during our trip to Canadian Rockies. So we decided to try it again in Maui. I usually hire a professional guide for most of our trips to maximize our time. But after we stumbled across this, I don't think we will ever use a pro in cities this app is available.

Ravi K: Did anyone even test this thing? The app keeps crashing on a Samsung Note II, sometimes even just as soon it is started. In between those crashes, it did seem useful, but an app that needs to be constantly restarted when you are driving 15mph on curvy roads is a recipe for disaster. On the road to Hana, the guide mentions that there are about 5 must see stops, but doesn't quite say where they are (suspense!) until we are close to the locations. Now combine this with a constantly crashing app and we had no idea whether we missed any of the stops or not when we restarted the app. What a distraction on an already tricky drive. The app also drains battery exceedingly fast. This is the most expensive app I've ever purchased and I sincerely regret it. Edit: Looks like I'm not alone with the crashes. Should have paid more attention to the 1 star reviews before purchasing this.

Ronson Chan: IF it worked like it's supposed to Just used this for the Haleakala Drive. No app crashes but the stories never finished. All the stories we heard got cut off which makes for a very frustrating experience. Would've been better if there were no stories than to have them cut off. Nexus 5 on stock 5.0. Very disappointed with the experience. EDIT: we created a game out of this. Each person listening to the commentary offers the most likely conclusion to the sentences. The one with the best answer WINS!

Ramon Maghsoudi: Awesome App!! I was originally looking for an app to guide us on our Road to Hana drive. First bought the road to Hana app without realizing there was a complete Maui tour app. Then found this one and bought. So glad I did and I won't even ask for a refund for the first one. The developers deserve every dollar. Well done and thanks for making our first trip to Maui even better!

Pete W: Replaces those expensive tour guides I loved this app while in Maui. There is so much information it tells you right when you arrive at a location. The only challenge is that sometimes the GPS signal on Maui is poor.

Levon Danielyants: Worth every penny! Just came back from the trip to Hana. Excellent app (but force stopped several times). We liked the idea very much. Well spent 10 bucks. Thank you.

Les Botfa: Maui Must Have Awesome app - highly recommended. Even the kids enjoyed this. Saved us time and learned a lot. Works great ... hope GyPSY adds more cities to their portfolio.

Chris Kelley: Perfect This app is awesome. The GPS based narration worked perfectly on my Droid Razr Maxx. Like others have said, it's like having a tour guide in the car with you.

Kevin Hansen: Best travel App I've ever purchased This thing is great. Seriously. Yes, I did shut down two or three times (during an entire 8 hour day) but really, that's no big deal. The guide gives you current commentary and directions based on your location. And doesn't use data either. It was truly awesome. Gave us places to turn off to see certain spots we never would have known to go on our own. Mainly used it on road to hana but it was helpful all over the entire Island. They should make one of these for everywhere. Well done!

Andrew C. McGibbon: Bugs and Crashes WHEN this app works it is wonderful. The narration and historical information is great. But it crashes frequently and sometimes stopped working on my Note 3.

chris sykes: Rip off This app keeps force closing every time we open it. Using a Note 3. Save your money. Google should refund money for allowing such garbage to be sold. Send me my refund now!!!!

Vanessa Camiro: Not working The app was not functional. Did not work at all. I kept getting a message saying unfortunately the app is not working.

Raj Gupta: Great app. Like having a personal guide with you. Gives turn by turn info about where you must stop and what you can skip, depending on time of day you are near an attraction en route. Where to stop for rest rooms, gas, eating, parking etc en route. Works on GPS. No data used. Without it you would miss spots where you must pull over and you would stop where there is not much to see. On the road to Hana, no way you would know where a small parking cutout is about to come for an important attraction. However

Kevin Pasternack: Full Maui GyPSy Driving Tour A must have app if this is your first time going to Maui. Having this app was like have a full time tour guide in the car with us at all times! There is no way we would have enjoyed or learned as much about Maui and Hawaii as we did when driving around with the Maui GyPSy!!!

Jason Connell: Showed me Maui The app is great, helping my family and I see Maui from a different perspective!

Davin Rampersaud: Awesome. Used for road to Hana. Provided intriguing historical insight as well as great tales of Hawaiian legend.

Gagan Tandon: Wow Great app for point to point directions and exploring island history with your personal tour guide..

Francina Franks: Awesome! You must have this for your trip to Maui. Please make more like this!
