Garbage in, garbage out - make sure text is sharp and large enough for recognition.
**Make sure text is upright (horizontally aligned to the app)** Beware of camera rotation!
Handwritten text will not work.
Text on top of unclean background (images or borders/lines in excel sheet) will not work.
PDF source is not supported.
OCR for Gujarati, Persian and Punjabi is experimental and the result is very bad. You have been warned.

When I used to scan my documents with this OCR Pro alone, I couldn't get ANY satisfactory results... So, I stopped using it, and even removed from my Home screen... But when I FIRST scanned, enhanced and pre-OCR my document by CamScan (Full version), and THEN sent its output to this application, I've got over 95% of CORRECTLY recognized English text!!! HINT: CamScan allows you to select any subset of your original page to be "OCR-ed". Use half-page increments in order not to wait long for the final OCR!!!<br /><br /><span style="color:red">David Dzierski:</span> Must have app! Exposure setting in integrated tool is too limited to handle difficult material. I use a custom font called AndreaPrintUpright, and it consistently misread the y's for q's, and has a problem recognizing the apostrophes; but then no OCR app is perfect. With the latest v1.3.0 version OCR for Chinese characters has indeed greatly improved, and is quite usable now. I tested using the same source and found, however, that mixed-Language OCR not only increased the processing time, but also decreased the accuracy of the OCR; so I suggest if you wish to OCR a bilingual screenshot - stick to Chinese only and edit any incorrect English areas. This app is very good value for $0.99 or even twice that price!<br /><br /><span style="color:red">David Archibald:</span> Simple and effective I use this to help me make notes and handouts for my students. I take a screen grab of an e-book page, quickly select the section of text I want, hit the OCR button followed by "copy to clipboard" and then simply copy the text into my document. The app is fast, accurate and easy because I can do it as I read. Much nicer than working at a pc. Dev would you please send me a copy of 2.15 apk and STOP ADDING "SHARED BY OCR PRO". Takes LONGER since I have to THEN edit THAT out.
