Jim Gimpel: Communication was interrupted?? Does not work. Like thousands of others, this will require me to take my car to the dealer an PRAY that they will know how (or care) to fix this. Paid a lot of money for this option and all I get is "communication with the vehicle was interrupted, please try again". I get the need for login security. I get the wait to connect. I don't get how faulty this service is.

Cody Rios: PROS: * Simple setup * All the features promised work * Car finder is mostly accurate if your car is outside. It's been within 10-15 feet of where my car actually is. CONS: * Asks for password every time you open the app. * Delay of about 15 seconds from selecting an action to it actually occurring. I would give it a higher rating if it worked faster and I didn't have to type in my password every time. 12/15/16 Edit: Delay has turned into about 30 seconds after selecting an action with many times it failing to communicate with the vehicle.

Gary Salushi: Does not work I registered online and downloaded the app. I can log in online, but the app doesn't recognize user ID and password. Also, you have to pay $65 per year for this? Did anyone know that?

Michael Lowe: Works now after defective box replaced Turns out Android 5.1.1 works just fine. The issues turned out to be a defective MMS ECM installed at the factory. Dealership installed new box and it works as advertised. This app though still has a lot of need to be reconfigured. Give us the option to "recognize" phone and bypass username/password. Pin number alone should be just fine. ***Note: Eyebrow window tint does not keep it from working, do not let them tell you that. Works fine on my 5% tinted eyebrow.

Mario Lacasse: The layout is pretty great actually. But, there is a significant drawback with the app as it navigates really slow. The log-in time is fine, but having to ask for a password every time (although I get the security behind it) is a bit redundant. It would be nice to open the app and see a digital key fob just like in real life. I'm not sure if the actual start times can be improved once you hit 'start engine', but it does seem to take about 30 seconds or so for the app to stop processing the request. Cool app though! Hope you guys do some serious updates and keep it going!

Cheryl McPhillips: Awful As other reviews state, the 2 layers of security to start the car through the app result in 2+ minutes to get the car started when it even works. Sometimes I just get a message that a connection can't be made. I can't believe how awful it is for what the remote start costs.

Ian Fitzgerald: Disappointed. I was hoping for a better result than any other starter company has to offer (since it's a mazda and a Japan company) but I was so disappointed. I went to the mazda and installed a mazda mobile start. But it turns out a disappointment one. First, the response of the mobile start is very slow (it takes about a minute before a certain command responds). Second, we always have to sign in again and again and again before we can use it and we always have to put the pin number anytime we choose a command.

Minh: Works as intended so far. There shouldn't be a subscription fee since the app never gets updated. Login process is terrible. I think I can get to my car and start it faster than the app could. I can see that no fundings went into making this app.

Harjot Mann: Seems like a lot of trouble Just reading over the description and all the reviews it does exactly that of a remote start. Mazda offers 2 flavors of remote start; 1is app version listed here and costs $700 (taxes) and annual fee $70, option 2 is the key fob remote start ($550, no annual fee required) that does exactly the same thing except lock and unlock the doors (car autolocks with advanced key or after set time once turned off). For $700+ go for key fob option so much less headache and it tells you if the car is ON/OFF from 1000ft.

Tom Warda: Inconvenience It is not worth it to purchase a remote start with Mazda. Be warned that this is not a free app, and that the dealer may not be up front with that. I purchased a cx3 and found that the $500 I paid for remote start was only a part of the cost of ownership. In reality I never use it and plan to cancel after my free year expires.

Scott Watterson: App needs to stay logged in! The app logs out after a short period of time which is beyond aggravating! Each time you need to start it you need to log into the app which takes like 15 seconds w/ a complex 8 character password (lower upper case, special characters, #'es). Then it takes 40 seconds to allow you to hit the start button. Then u still have to put in a 4 digit passcode. Then its another 40 seconds to start. Not convenient at all. Have complained- Mazda tells me I'm the only one complaining 8 mo's and no updates? Infuriating!

Alison W.: Mazda rip off I got- ie paid for- the "factory" remote because I wanted it on the factory car key. Turns out that even though I paid $245 for the factory remote I had to download this very slow app. UP TO 1 MINUTE TO LOGIN. Up to one minute actually wait for the car to start. And guess what. .if you live in the mountains with limited cell service --you are out of luck. AND THE BEST PARK IS YOU HAVE TO PAY $65 a year for this crappy remote. I want to point my key out the window and just start my car.....for free!!!!!!!!

: Got this on my 2017 Mazda 6. It kind of works. But very cumbersome. It takes some time to execute commands. Okay, I can live with that. Beats walking to a cold car. But - you have to login every frikinig time. "remember me' checkbox during login does not work. AND then, on top of loggin in every time - you have to enter PIN number. Simply ridiculous. You can get to your bank account simpler than that.

Cory Ching: Way too slow The app itself seems to work as designed but there are a couple of significant issues with it. The app doesn't stay logged in so you have to reenter credentials each time you start the car. This is in addition to the pin that you have to enter. It is also very slow to log in. In total it takes 3 levels of authentication and 2 minutes just to start your car. Kills any convenience.

Aaron Gates: Nice app but room for improvement The app works great, is Def worth the money (since it has limitless range and more or less makes it impossible to lock urself out of your car), and does it's job well. There is definitely room for improvement though. Turning the car on a bit faster would be nice, but it's about the same time as a text takes, so that's fine. A few things I'd like to see added would be the ability to control the temperature, front defroster, and for the app to save my password.

Gregory Scholz: Frustrating overkill on "security" I lock my phone but then have to login to app and again use pin to start car - 3 logins?!. Can't send start command until app checks car status. Even my finance apps don't require a password every hour if pin set. How about change this to require password to set up the app but then just pin to use it. For actions let me send command and then if car status is a issue then give warning. 99% of the time status is fine, why make me wait 99% of the time for an OK. Easy fixes without compromising security.

Angela Nicole: Seriously I just got a mazda that advertised this app one reason I was so excited about the vehicle. And after making the purchase I find out my phn isn't compatible what the he'll I have a edge 6 and it's not compatible practical a new phn I'm so upset. They need to be more clear on the requirements for the things they are advertising..

: Mobile Start I don't know why this app has such bad reviews! I was skeptical having the mobile start installed in our CX5 but I am absolutely ecstatic that we did! I have not had a problem with this app or the vehicle since I've been using it! Assuming that people rated it based on an older version but the updated version goes without problems! Yes you may need a password and and pin but at the same point do you want your child starting your car or making the Panic alarm go off while playing with your phone?

Yannick Benoit: Different...but place for improvement! Offers nice options (defrost). Could be faster. Could also have a short lenght communication method whenever 3g is not available. The downside on a mazda cx-5...you need to restart the vehicule if started remotely. However the installation is performed with a bypass module, therefore no fob is required..hence redering the engine to stop when opening the door useless and obsolete...but thats the car manufacturer's fault...simply an FYI for futur cx-5 owner (btw, it would be the same behavior with any starter

Richard Flieger: Inconvenient The app has a "Remember Me" check box, but it doesn't work, requiring one to input the password and PIN every time. With the unnecessarily long delays, it takes a couple of minutes of effort to use the app. I'm sure glad the dealer didn't charge me for this option!

Destinee Lee: Whose idea was this colossal piece of crap?? Not everything has to be on our phone!! Give me a key fob AND an app. Don't make me keep suffering with just the app!!!

Liz Wittman: Doesn't work This app only worked the first couple weeks. Now, all it ever says is Communication Interupted" and it will do absolutely NOTHING. And it's not my cell phone either. I have 5 bars, so it can't be a lack of reception....

Chad Bradbrooke: The app itself does what it says it will. Starts your car, unlocks the doors, find your car, etc. However, it is very slow, having to update every time you do something...taking a minute or more to do so. Also, having to enter a password when opening the app, and then entering a PIN whenever you do anything, seems pretty redundant and makes the app more difficult to use when on the move. The initial password login should be removed, and just rely on the password.

Navid Nazari: Too much security hard to use. takes lots of time to login and again pin code to start the car. why it is not working with finger print to login?

Cheri C: Terrible waste of money My last vehicle, a Chevy Cruze, had remote start, so I thought I'd invest in it for this one too. Didn't know you'd have to use an app that took forever to load and respond, if it did at all, and that then I'd have to restart my car once I got to it. My Chevy automatically turned up the heat and defrost and muted the stereo. This does not.

Jeff HMarathon: Barely ever works. I feel ripped off. Barely works and takes way too long to use when it does work. Update. Last 15 tries to start my car. It worked two times. I would give it zero stars. F. F . F. Do not buy.

Amanda Villano: Love the idea. The app has everything I want - and everything I would never, ever, ever ever ever ever want in an app intended for convenience. Getting the remote start installed when purchasing my mazda wasn't cheap. Wasn't thrilled to hear that on top of that I had to pay $65 a year, but hey, worth it, right? Would be - if it didn't take less time for me to put on my shoes, jacket, turn off my alarm, go outside, unlock the car, and start it than it takes for me to turn on my phone screen, unlock the phone, open the app, unlock it with my 8+ character password with numbers, select start engine, type in the pin, then wait for the data to send and finally for the car to actually start. Why two layers of security? It's totally inconvenient, when most people already have a security lock on their phone. At most, it should be optional. The app is new - hopefully it sucks less eventually. Giving it until the end of the free year, otherwise I'll be buying a $50 remote start on amazon and then cancelling the ridiculous annual fee.

mark cozzi: Just bought a 2017 Mazda 6 GT. It's my second Mazda 6 (turned in my lease on my 2104 6). Although ultimately this app DOES start the car when you're away from it (I use mine to start the car as I'm approaching from the railroad), I find logging in tedious and redundant. There doesn't seem to be any legitimate reason to have to log on TWICE for the same app. Also, why not have the log in attached to the fingerprint scanner on the phone. I have a Samsung Galaxy Note 5 and numerous other phones have fingerprint scanners. Why not Mazda? This seems to be the issue with most people that have the app. Also, it seems like there should be more options then just start, lock and unlock and the rear defroster. If they can connect it to the locks and defroster, why not to the heated seats or the front defroster? Doesn't seem to make sense. They [Mazda] make such nice driving cars and between this app and their horrendous infotainment system, I can't say confidently that I'll be returning as a Mazda owner when this lease is up. Fix these issues Mazda. Your customers deserve better.

Cary Renèe Watts: Needs improvement Like others have said, it needs the option to stay logged in. Also the lock/unlock function isn't working on mine. (Apparently I need to contact the dealer) I hope some things improve soon otherwise I won't be keeping it past the one year trial.

Joshua Manser: Horrible Owning a GM product, I am very familiar with apps linked to a vehicle. This product is horrible in comparison to OnStar's remote app. Constant communication issues and very slow. Constantly have to log out and back in. What a waste of $600 plus the subscription.

Melissa F: What all do u need to have to use the app? I have a 2016 Mazda 6. Is there a particular one that can use this app?

Josep Miquel Jornet Montaña: There is a huge delay between choosing a command and obtaining the car response (much longer than comparable options such as Viper et al). I'm not sure why...

Leanne Stickland: Leanne Will never buy this again unless there are major changes i can walk to my car faster than remote start it

T Ly: Recommendation It would be fabulous if you could set the car to automatically start up at a certain time (ie. Every morning before work). That way you know you are for sure getting into a warm vehicle even if you forget to start it ahead of time! Especially since the app takes awhile to start itself up.

robin cason: Doesn't work all the time It's freezing here in st.louis and the app isnt working. Tried everything, whats the point if it doesnt work. Same problem in the summer...app isn't good at all.

Robert Sundback: Not worth it. App takes too long. The option to find your car points me in the opposite direction. Annual fee should be unnecessary after install cost.

Shawn Steffensen: Needs improvement Same complaints everyone else has here. Have to enter password everytime the app is opened. Slow loading for any command. Other than that, it does what it says.

Jared Perez: Just too slow I like the function of the app, but it's just so slow to login and then do anything. Still don't get why I have to enter a password and then a pin to start the car.

tim babits: Still doesn't work, I have my new cx5 for a month Only thing I do is open tickets with mazda, but no resolution. ..save your money

Timothy Malloy: PRO: I can start my car from anywhere, which means I don't have to be within a certain distance with line of sight. That's super convenient. CON: Time to itemize. 1. I have to log in to the app TWICE to initiate any command. The initial login just tells me what the current status of the vehicle is...the second login is required to do anything. 2. The app logs out after a certain time period...which is really kind of unnecessary as you have to log in a second time with a PIN to command the car. I would be happier with it if it kept me logged in and I just needed the PIN to make something happen. I'm an IT manager so I get security concepts...but along with my phone's authentication that makes for a total of three logins to start my car. 3. The car turns off when I open the door. This one really bothers me the most. Just why. And don't say safety. Safety is NOT an issue with remote start. 4. The time delay. I get that it's using radio transmission and GPS and all that has to move through the air. I get that it takes multiple hops from equipment to equipment and it has to first interrogate the car before reporting back and the executing my command. It's just...slow.
