Enticed by the "half price", cheaper by the dozen offer I abandoned my season ticket in favour of this. It is is not user friendly and 99% of the time the bar code does not scan at the gates in Cardiff. I do worry about phone failure as the tickets are not held online though. However, it is cheap and convenient. Time will tell on its cost effectiveness after the offer finishes. So I deleted 3 unused tickets. Contacted Arrival Trains Wales and there response was that it was tough and I would not be refunded any money. Very poor service from them considering there is a major bug in the app. Why would an app allow you to delete something that has not been used?<br /><br /><span style="color:red">Simon Bradwick:</span> A long way to go Not much thought has been given to the design of this app. Tickets that you buy are listed alphabetically - would be a lot better if grouped in journeys. The lack of thought is found in all areas of the app. Not good enough considering what TFL are doing with Oyster.<br /><br /><span style="color:red">Wyn Jones:</span> Needs work Used tickets should really disappear automatically after a certain number of days instead of having to be removed manually. The return halves of the tickets should not all be at the bottom. It's easy to activate the wrong half. I can get ticket details up when I need to collect tickets at the station, and I can get live times. But the lack of back-up/cloud facilities for storing multiflex tickets is a massive issue. My previous phone had to be reset numerous times due to power issues, which meant my entire phone was wiped, including all of the unused tickets. After downloading and logging in again, the tickets were gone, but showed that they had been purchased. It's cheaper to buy weekly on train even if you have to miss a day during the week. Go back to being roughly same price as weekly please. The tickets are also quick to activate end route to my station. However, the app will only let me buy for Arriva only journeys. There is also a huge bug in the used and unused tickets part of the app. I've accidentally deleted new tickets in error before. Also, the phone uses up my battery so quickly, I have to show my ticket to the conductor as I get onboard. Only gripe with this is I have to buy my tickets in batches of 6 returns. It would be great to get a months worth all together or need able to buy singles. However, as others have commented, it's useless for buying tickets as the message "Purchases are not available for this route and time" is displayed whatever journey I plan. Why don't the developers sort this out? I'd be ashamed. Delays and cancellations every time I travel without explanation or communication. Expected trains just disappear from the board after being shown as 'on time' until 10 mins after they were due. Message at the bottom of the screen said purchases were not possible for this route / time. Glitches constantly and have even ended up deleting unused tickets as they'd been bundled in altogether with the used ones - no way to retrieve these and no refunds available from ATW. I used the App up until October as it worked out cheaper than a weekly but don't bother anymore as the price has shot up and it's now more expensive so why bother! Barcodes never scanned at the ONE Cardiff Central barrier which even allowed scanning either - awful.<br /><br /><span style="color:red">Richard Humphreys:</span> Rubbish App....The Trainline is better I've only ever been able to purchase tickets once with this app. All other times I have tried it says "purchase not available" and this is for same day tickets or in advance.... yet the same tickets can be bought from other ticket apps such as The Trainline.
