Slay Description
PLEASE! - If you have any problems or any suggestions to make Slay better, get in touch with us, at sean@windowsgames.co.uk.Slay is a simple to learn game of strategy and cunning set in medieval times. The island is divided up between the six players, and you must try to capture your enemies' land and link up your own territories to create larger and stronger ones. You begin capturing land by attacking with your peasants. Once your territories become richer you can combine peasants to make stronger and stronger people (Spearmen, Knights and then Barons) who can kill weaker enemy troops, or knock down their castles. Just be careful that you don't create too many expensive men or the territory will go bankrupt!
"This game is pure strategy! It's a work of genius. Brilliant AI. Engaging turn-based multiplayer strategy. Sid Meier, eat your heart out!" - GameSpy.com
"I love this game! I play it all the time, and when I'm not, I think about wanting to play it." - PocketNow.com
"At first glance, Slay looks elementary, but hidden beneath are cunning strategy elements that must be finely balanced for success" - PC Magazine
"Deceptively delightful. The graphics are simple, but the strategy is complex." - Download.com

Joe Olinger: One of my all time favorites I've now played this game on three platforms and it doesn't get old. A great little strategy game, simple rules and can be very challenging on some maps.

Tony Rogers: Great strategy game Fantastic game that depends solely on skill, not on luck. Previous versions had some minor issues when exiting game (not saving/forgetting your history) but they seem pretty ironed out now. Well worth the time and money.

Adam McNulty: Addicting Challenging enough to keep trying but not hard enough to give up. Proof that games without great 3d gfx can still entertain. The only problem I have had was the loss of all my past wins. I've had to start over, trying to beat each map, several times.

Julian Walter: SLAY galaxy S5 Played previously on iPhone. Excellent game when was working Now galaxy S5. Game has begun crashing on loading new maps for no reason after working well for 30ish rounds. Reinstalling unhelpful. Broken 😥

Kent Lanum: Great as before! Had this game going back I bet 10 years ago on the WinMo platform. Simple yet as addictive as ever and just as much fun. Trust me as it is great fun!

Alan Meiss: One of my favorite games A splendid and well-balanced strategy game that's a bit like a combination of Risk and Go. Hundreds and hundreds of maps of varying difficulty offer a new challenge with each game and great value for the money...I've played through at least a couple hundred so far, and I'm still having fun. The rules are simple, but the gameplay surprisingly complex. Overextend your empire, and you'll soon be dismantled...but rest on defense, and your foes will overwhelm you. Great game!

Jay R: Maps too similar How about some small sized challenge maps? Each could be like a puzzle with a specific solution to teach some of the game mechanics and strategies. Otherwise great game!

Russ Mitchell: Habit forming I've been playing this game for more than a year on both the iPhone and now Samsung note. Challenging. Fun. Hours and hours of entertainment. The very hard maps are challenging but doable. Who wants a cakewalk - this is my favorite game of the past 2 years.

Jukka Ikävalko: Worth the money One of my all time favourite games and probably the best game on play store. It's easy to learn, difficult to master. Gotta love it.

Nick Hunter: Two thumbs way up! Of all the games I've played over my lifetime this is one of my favorites and I am so glad I can play one of my favorite games on my favorite system! An oldie but a goody !!!

Harvey Collins: Totally addictive, best game ever! I love this game but help! I've run out of islands! Please can you supply more maps (very very hard?) or perhaps make it possible to play the other players on the existing islands.

William Bennett: Love this game Sean, so glad you got this over from pc version. This is way better then risk. Ive always loved slay. Now I just can't wait until you do mother of all battles! (Nudge, nudge)

Stephen Ives: Love this Good game. Still not sure exactly what the hexagon to peasant ratio, seems random, but I am stupid so probably not the case

Suicide Sandwich: OMG I had bought the PC version of this forever ago and I was completely addicted. I haven't played since I switched to Linux. I LOVE YOU FOR MAKING THIS FOR ANDROID! !!!

Brent Hoskisson: I like it Ten years ago, this was the original multi-player game for the pocket PC. There was an option for how many humans and you could pass the device around. It would be nice to see that back. The map in the corner is useless and I can barely see the little hut flags. Making them larger would be great for us with bad eyes.

Kurt Gramoll: Great to see Slay on Android (finally) I have been playing Slay for well over 10 years. Started with PocketPC and then with Windows. What a surprise to see it on the Google market. Still like the windows version more (not sure if it is still sold). It has 5,000+ Friendly Games plus Challenge games. Great strategy game, but simple and quick to play. Perfect for those 10-15 mins breaks. Could use crisper graphics like the windows version (don't like the texture graphics - Sean keep it simple). Wish your other games were on Android (Rats, Firefight, The General, Mother-of-all-battles, etc).

David Koehler-Stanescu: Fun but Formulaic Slay is a great little game, that requires an interesting balance of greed and protecting your lands. Unfortunately, after just a few games, Slay becomes almost unlosable, and loses some of its zest. I've enjoyed my time with the game, but for a five star rating, it would need to have more active and aggressive ai, and more interesting maps -- maybe even a custom map maker.

Van Wyk Louw: Purest strategy An old Windows favourite, finally on Android and just as good as ever. My main suggestion is adding a quick reference to show cost & upkeep of each unit, lest you foolishly upgrade yourself to failure.

A Google User: Good until updated This is an amazing game, but recent updates have detracted. Firstly, the animations are now much slower and the game lags a fair bit when scrolling the map. Second, when I try to resume a game that I started earlier, it returns the map to the original state, losing all my progress. Fix these, and I will re-rate to five stars. Edit: reflashed my phone with stock firmware, and the lost progress issue is gone. Re-rated to 4 stars. The fifth is still forthcoming if the map lag is removed. Edit: and latest updates have removed the lagging and slow animations. Back to 5 stars!

Darren Stocker: Won't run on moto G3 Awesome game on iOS but android version won't run. App stops immediately after loading splash screen. Reinstalled, no difference.

David Huttleston Jr: Risk meets go It's an excellent strategy game. Each map has it's own pace. On the very hard maps, you have to grow at the expense to the right opponents. Very tricky. It sounds ridiculous but I've beat all the very hard maps- more please!

Gai jin: Game itself is great Epitome of easy to learn, hard to master. Very addicting, although after playing the crap out of it for a month or two I've run out of content. Multiplayer would help replay tremendously. Very much wish I was shown what territory I lost to computer with red-outlined hexes or something. Gotten better at remembering my boundaries but on big maps with more than a dozen territories its impossible to remember. Unit cost is on the help screen -- I still go there regularly to double check my math but there's no reason the app couldn't do that for me.

Dominic Poole: Flawed! Hard - Fogr is impossible to win! If anyone can beat this one please let me know as I've tried every possible way! I urge the developer to try and beat it! Not happy!

Andrew Wilson: One of my all time favourite games I first bought this game about 15 years ago for windows 95. It's one of my all time favourite games. I was gutted when my old version wouldn't work on windows 7. I was overjoyed to find it on android. I'd give it six stars if I could.

Mick Stockwell: Awesome! I bought this for the wondows pocket pc almost 15 years ago. I can't believe it's still around. I still have my old Windows version.

Ruddin Ardzi: Good, want more Love the game. Good stratagy game. Online play is needed. 2-6 online players battling it out on a larger board.

dave tuttle: Thank the gods that you made this available on Android. I'm not an Apple fan but I kept my old Touch around just to play Slay.

A Google User: Here we go again This is the 4th platform where I've purchased this game. I thought I was finally over it when I gave away my iPod, but no, I had to buy it again (and for more $ than last time) because it is one of my fav's. Sean, my Slay addiction thanks you. ;-)

Donovan Dale: Great game Good job with this game. Just like my childhood. However it is a huge battery drain... Don't know how it uses more battery than my screen

Andrei Margineanu: The only TBS game I enjoy Somehow the zoom (Ghete hexagons get tiny on bigger maps) makes it difficult to play, but you can slide the map.

Phil Weber: Best mobile strategy game!! I played this game on windows mobile and couldn't wait for it to be released on android! Quick convenient gameplay with rich strategic depth. Mobile strategy at its finest!

Andrew Thomas: Android, at last Long time fan of this game on the PC, finally released for Android. Losing your progress when task switching is frustrating for sure!

Anthony Sarno: Yes! Use to play this on windows 95. Love this game, highly addictive. Runs clean and fast on android. Hey Sean this would be epic if it were multiplayer with friends. . Just saying. .

Christopher Collings: Great little game Have played every map. Now replaying some just for fun. A couple of maps ive not been able to beat.

Colin Waring: Great Games I bought the "Windows Games" ten years or so ago when there were only 4 games in the bundle. I still keep my aging copies of Slay and Mother around for playing so was quite happy to spot this in the app store. I'd love to see Mother make an appearance as well.

Jordan Moshe: Can't stop slaying Played this game for so many hours. Please bring Android the rest of your games! Specifically Critical Mass, Mother of, and firefight.

Michael Kaufman: I have played this game for about 15 years on many different platforms, and I never get tired of it. Well worth the money. I do wish it would get some of the updates from the windows version

Rebecca Brannum: Love this game! I was just trying to think of the little strategy game I had a demo of growing up on my first computer, did a quick Google and found this. Never had a chance to buy the original but it brought me so many hours of joy so I'm so happy to play this again and support the person who made it.

Med Lock: Missing old version I have been playing this game ever since i was in middle school. I have it on my desktop right now. I am not giving 5 stars because i do not get to pick my own color, the colors of the other players or how many people i can play against. 2 This version doest let me do that. Sometimes all i want is 1 opponent. Its not the same game. I dont even get to choose a human opponent. I really LOVED the other version. This one makes me miss it even more

Matthew Hughes: Played it on Windows XP, better on android I go through periods of playing it incessantly and not at all. It is a great game made better by touch. Better on a bigger screen, but pinch to zoom works.
