BATTERY USE
With Moves, our goal was to create an app that will keep your phone running fine if you charge it nightly. In tests with Moves and other typical phone use, we’ve reached that goal, but your results may vary, as there are many variables that affect battery consumption. We’re continuously working on minimizing battery consumption even further.
SAMSUNG NOTE II INCOMPATIBILITY
Unfortunately, Samsung Note II cannot run its accelerometer sensor in the background. We have tried different solutions, but we have not found a satisfactory way to support the device. We would really like to support Note II and try to find a way in the future.

Guille Mend: Wrong tracking and surely made on purpose I ride a lot through london everyday. I have noticed that if I go pretty quick from one point to another, it will be retained as 'transport'.... So 20kms daily riding my bike can most of the time finish in nothing... Great!

Paul Lee: I've come back to Moves I was a beta tester for Moves and I thought it was pretty good. When Fit came out, I ran both concurrently, then I switched altogether because I felt Fit had gotten to the point where it was good enough. I recently upgraded to the Pixel and I've found that, for whatever reason, Fit is no longer the better choice for me. I walk quickly, and oftentimes Fit registers my walk as a run. One thing I would change about Moves would be to allow users to hide the grey instruction area at the bottom of the screen

Patrick Helfrich: Doesn't track all steps As with a few other reviews, step count doesn't accurately count the number of steps taken. I have an app native to my Samsung Galaxy and it has always had significantly more steps counted. I've looked at the Moves count, came back later to the same count or even less. Also the continuous prompting for my GPS to be turned on is very annoying. I just want my steps tracked.

Harish Pulimi: Significantly lower than other fitness trackers (For eg: When Google fit and Fitbit records 10000 steps Moves just shows 4000-5000 steps). Is this to avoid giving the Vitality points? If thats the reason then raise the bar for points but do not discard the actual physical steps.

Simon Williams: Crap! Very annoyingly I go out for a 30 minute walk and it recognises 0 steps. It comes up as bloody Transport!!! Also there seems to be a certain time of day beyond which the app will just not record any more steps. Please, please sort it out! I have installed Google Fit as a backup but that's not infallible either.

Neil Love: Calorie count miles out. Change of review, it was my mistake. Not sure what the calorie count on left is but if you touch steps on right it shows calories used and appears to be about right. It says that after walking 1475 steps that I have burnt 1400 calories, oh how I wish that were true. Needs some serious attention to rectify this, think I will just use as step counter for now......

Brian Markowitz: Poor app, doesn't track accurately I downloaded this app to sync with another fitness app I use (Pact). Moves was the only connected app I could use. It is remarkable how poorly this app does the one thing it is supposed to do. No less than 3 times during a simple walk to the grocery did the app recalibrate my steps taken, always deducting a good 100 or so steps! Right now, this app shows less than 9700 steps taken today. Google Fit shows over 12,000. While I understand that each app works separately, 2000 steps is no mere rounding error.

Jeshka Lewis: Not super accurate I got this because Achievemint doesn't communicate with SHealth. It has a nice clean interface and is simple and pleasant to use, but it constantly records at least 2k steps less than SHealth. Today it entirely failed to record a .5 mile walk I took to the library and back

Fiona Cohn: It's rubbish. I go walking regularly and the app switches itself off after a couple of minutes walking and doesn't track steps. When I cycle it says I've been in transport. It worked better until a few weeks ago so not sure if they've done a rubbish update or the app is just a complete waste of time.

Laurel McNees: Horrible...far from accurate Horrible app. Doesn't count steps unless the app is completely open. Thank God for S Health by Samsung because it actually works and tracks my steps! I walked almost 20,000 steps last week and this app didn't account for but 900 steps. So inaccurate that it's frustrating. I will be looking for a new backup app

simon alexander fraser: Misses a significant amount of steps when compared to fit bit and Samsung health, also only ever tracks 16 minutes of cycling when I have cycled to the same place via a different route or at a different pace. Not great when your relying on this app to generate vitality points. It needs to be more accurate. Very poor and not fit for purpose. Update, I have contacted the developer but not received s response, does not work at all well on Samsung s7. Please respond

Leszek Szyjka: This apps keep resetting the steps and i keep loosing steps daily... Example,,, start of the day 500 steps, start 40 min walk, get 4000 steps added , then get back home and open the app and all of the sudden the app refreshes to original 500 steps. It keep happening randomly all the time. The app is becomming useless. I check the steps during the walk and all is great but then at home it resets and loses my step. please fix the issue with the app.

aman pathak: This app goes down on its when it's actually needed. Some serious issues with GPS signals for sure. Whenever GPS is turned off/signal lost it reverse the current day data and start counting again from again. Reverse counting feature is unique. Almost 20k steps turns 0 in matter of few minutes. Developer needs to work alot on this. Useless.

Jon Downey-Handley: Terrible! Ive tried to link a number of apps, (Count It, Fit Hub,) but it doesnt sync any of my data. I emailed the Moves support team last week but no response. This should link, (and reward me with benefits) to my medical insurance. I suspect its just a way for Vitality to avoid rewarding their members. Considering I pay them £20k per year for my company policy, I expected a lot more!

Daniel King: This used to be a good app. I don't know if it's Nougat or what. But now, it tracks very few of my steps in a day. I live in an urban seeing and walk a lot. Google Fit will show over 10,000 steps in a day, whereas Moves only shows 1,700. I have only continued to use this app so far because it syncs with Pact app. But with grossly unreliable results, it is useless.

Alex Holbourne: Doesn't track accurately The pedometer on this app is essentially useless, it seems to count about half the actual distance I walk. On top of that it seems to stop tracking entirely if you don't open the app for a few days. Only use it because it links to my health insurance provider, otherwise I'd uninstall

Adam Moore: Terrible tracking I use this for PruHealth, if I didn't have to then I would delete it instantly. Why I hate it? Its tracking is terrible. Almost no point. My Samsung tracking and my wife's iPhone tracking give similar results. Moves will give less than half of what those tracking apps give. For example, on a recent city break I walked c.30k steps... Moves only accounted for about 12k. I am not sure why PruHealth is associated with this app as the whole point is to accurately reflect how much activity you have done.

Hannah Mellows: Rubbish rubbish rubbish. Doesn't track my steps properly. I used it to track steps for my vitality life insurance and I'm basically missing out on points. My Samsung phone has its own step counter and the difference between moves and samsung health trackers are huge. Fix your app....

Tims996: Tracking of runs and rides poor. When checked against my Garmin or a simple stop watch, it randomly loses parts of your ride. If you are using Vitality you have to be very careful it has not done you out of points, time or miles! Update: After numerous problems with tracking, Moves developers do not reply to emails about faults. Lots of requests from Vitality to email them, but Vitality do not realise/care that Moves never reply to problems.

Kyle Arnold: Worst app ever. There have been many occasions where it loses track of your steps, doesn't record steps, and pathway is very incorrect. The only reason why I have to keep this app around is due to a work competition and there are no other apps that can be used.

Alessandro Pellizzari: It constantly loses at least 30% of my steps (compared with Google fit). It drains my battery (50% more than usual, at least). Sometimes the counter just resets 1000 steps lower on opening the app. I have it installed because it's the only android app usable with vitality, but would uninstall immediately otherwise.

: Worst app ever, it says that it runs in the background but it's a lie I seem to have to have it open before it will start tracking. I only use it because it's the only way Vitality accepts running and cycling data and I have lost count of how many points I've lost because it hasn't tracked properly, I've complained for months about it and it's never gotten any better. If you don't need it for Vitality don't get it! For running apps I'd suggest Runkeeper

John Mulcahy: It worked an absolute dream for 6 months or so. Did big upgrade on S7 and has been useless since. Trying to uninstall and 're install in hope. Also used for vitality purposes and costing me points

Mark Hirst: Unfortunately the app does not work well at all as it does not accurately count your steps. I have 3 apps that I'm testing and the other 2 were very precise and within 5% accuracy (I tested with me counting as well) and 3% of each other however this app was out by almost 600%. I have an S7 with the latest updates. If you are relying on this app for Vitality Health points then you're out of luck.

Alex Orona: Not accurate at all I used this app along with various other pedometer apps and this was way off. It was always a way different amount than all the other step counters I used at the same time. Also, I wanted to track my bike ride and it tracked it as transport, not activity... I wouldn't recommend this app.

John Allen: Installed this because the app "works with" my insurance. But the app itself doesn't count steps I take. For example: the Samsung Health app will show 5,000 steps taken, whereas Moves will only show 3,000. And then Moves will only "report" 2,200 of those steps to my insurance. I see in other reviews where the number of steps randomly jumps around. This happens for me, too. It'll randomly lose 200 steps or so. Very unhappy with the app. TL;DR - the app can't count.

Neil Thompson: Totally useless! Looses track of steps, after walking for 40 mins it recorded it as transport. It regularly deletes all of your step history and resets to 0 if you open the app during an activity. It doesn't recognise cycling, records it as transport. I have this app linked to my Vitality Health Insurance to monitor activity, total waste of time! I've emailed Moves and they haven't responded.

Mark van Gelder: Poor step counts Since android calorie update the step count is terrible. At best 50% of competing apps. What is worse is that steps seem to be counted and then "corrected" off. When approached developer showed interest in fixing the problem but then lost interest and now ignores any messages. Sad part is the healthier providers who trust the counts from this app.

Barbara Dehinbo: When I first got this app, it was working perfectly. Now its not recording properly and this is totally annoying. After walking for an hour it only recorded 900 steps! I walked over an hour and it only recorded 16 minutes. The other day, I walked for about 2 hours and it recorded about 20 minutes! Useless! Frustrating! I hope something will be done and done pretty soon as I am uninstalling this app if no improvement very very soon

: Not reliable Slick graphic design and a nice timeline feature. However basic step counting just isn't on par with for example S Health. Nice that it can detect Cycling, unlike the former. Needs better accuracy particularly for Vitality members who want to earn those 5 points :D

bipin r: After an hour long walk, we realise it has been recorded as transport! Not just once, several times! Very poor tracking, especially for the last few weeks! Please make it track activities properly!

Dommell Cordero: The move count is wrong. Please fix. I think this is a scam for vitality users who are using only android app. I am paying alot for my insurance but this is what you have for me, a piece of worthless slow counting bugged app. I think you should give me back some of points in my vitality because I am losing loads of moves.

Roel Cabellon: My job involves walking for 8 hours. I have noticed that it I am just ranging between 1000 to 1300 steps. It also goes back to 50 or 90 steps after taking a few rest. Cheaters.

Matthew Dickson: Without a doubt this is one of the least fit for purpose apps I have ever used. I have watched it remove counted steps before my very eyes. The guidance is next to useless. I have to use this app to track activity for my life insurance (Vitality Health) and the app's failure to register activity has financial implications for me. This app is the reason I will be not be renewing my insurance policy.

Lamont Clark: Its a nice app BUT it will short change your steps. For instance, I pace when I read, lets say I had 100 steps recorded and i walked around my dining room reading for 5 minutes, the app will initially count those steps, to let's just say 500 steps. But then the app will go back to the number I started off at, 100, as if I hadn't been walking around for 5 minutes. I believe the app is trying to track your linear movement as if you only walk in long, straight lines. My Gear 2 and the Moves app will be 1 or 2 THOUSAND steps apart at the end of the day. If it wasn't for this 'glitch' I'd give it a solid 4, possibly 5 stars.

David Visser: Terrible. Probably have great ideas on a step tracker but the implementation is so super buggy. Could not even count all the steps. Why bother with the frustration, use Google Fit or if you have a Samsung use S Health it's built in.

Donovan Kirkwood: Completely under-reading activity Was working great, approx similar to my LG phone app, but last couple of weeks it's just not recording activity. I was walking up and down for around 12 hours today. My phone correctly reflected that as equivalent to 8.9km. Moves app recorded 69 steps! Useless if it doesn't do its main job reporting activity to my medical aid scheme to get rebates.

Luciano Frige: Borderline useless I use this app to connect to my Vitality Life account. It's nothing short of abysmal. It registers thousands of steps below what I know I have done, sometimes it registers only a handful of steps for the whole day. Sadly I'm stuck with it until I can find a suitable replacement. Neat idea, poorly executed.

Neil Haggerty: Can't do anything This is a frustrating waste of time. I have vitality insurance and unfortunately have to use this junk to get any of the benefits; except I don't. I ride to and from work for more than an hour a day, I'm lucky to have 0.7km logged. And this is in and around Manchester, not in the middle of nowhere. Crap.

Armando Solis: I don't think this keeps an accurate count. Somehow picking the phone up from my nightstand counts as... thirty steps??? Make a widget for a quick visible step counter also!
