FuelLog - Car Management Description

Track fuel consumption, maintenances and costs!
Track and log your mileage, fuel consumption, maintenances, services and costs of your car or motorbike and know exactly how much your car costs. FuelLog calculates a lot of useful statistics like fuel consumption and economy (e.g. mpg or l/100km) of your car or other vehicle, total cost and mileage, average cost per distance or gas amount, average cost per month, year and driven distances, expenses and a lot more. Everything is managed in a nice-looking and very easy to use interface.
Track all kind of costs and maintenances/services like for example monthly insurance, daily bridge toll, yearly taxes, services, car parts, parking costs, oil or tyre changes, and a lot more... (limited to 15 entries in the free version)
FuelLog is probably the first and only app in this category that supports also electric cars using kWh, CNG cars using kg or gge and other vehicles with an hour meter!
6 different nice-looking graphical charts show the fill ups (only Android 2.1 and newer)
Use the included calculator to calculate costs, used/needed fuel volumes and distances for your next trip or the daily way to work with your car, based on the automatically gathered statistical data.
Of course FuelLog supports multiple cars and it is usable in every country because it supports and converts Kilometre/Miles, Litres/Gallons(US)/Gallons(UK), mpg/l/100km defined individually per vehicle and every known currency.
The stored fill ups and costs can be exported as a *.csv file for further calculations on your computer or just to be saved as a backup on your sdcard. If you have stored your gas purchases and maintenances/services on the computer or if you want to restore a previous backup, you can import the data in FuelLog (only FuelLogPro). If you have problems importing your data or if you want to convert an export from another App, from the iPhone or from a website, just send me an email, I will help you!
The user interface is very easy to use, intuitive, clear and simple and informative, nice and "android-like".

Nate Patrick: Update: How to use on newer Android OS Like most of you, I was annoyed by the lack of support for this app I paid for, and lack of usability since the OS had updated and this dev had not continued to update. I found a solution on my Galaxy S5! Go to your main Settings: Accessibility: Dexterity & interaction: Assistant menu and turn it on. I used the Assistant Plus as well. Then open up this app, you will now see a little bubble you can click to open (mine has 4 white buzzes inside a blue circle), go to "More Options" to access the old menus!

Kate Brady: Just what I was looking for It's simple but has enough options and features to keep me happy. Its great for budgeting for fuel for trips and for monitoring your car and seeing how things like driving habits or tire inflation levels effect fuel economy. I am disappointed in the export/backup feature, however. I could not get it to actually produce a file when I tried to export a couple years worth of data when I was switching phones. Maybe that was my fault but I did spend a long time trying.

Tom J: It's great but annoying! STOP taking the decimal key off the main numberpad! Geesh. I can recall multiple updates adding this to the main screen and other updates taking it away. So ANNOYING to have to hit SYM to get to the decimal point. Why the # and * keys are on the main number pad and the decimal is not is beyond me. The decimal is the only special key used when entering data, not the # and *! Fix that and you get my 5 stars!

A Google User: garbage this app is useless since there is no option to secure your data. unless you backup it manually. i lost all my data now. corrupted file or bad luck. no data. have a nice day, i lost my entire year. bye bye. loosers

A Google User: Great App & Helpful Developer FuelLog is a simple app that does exactly what you expect it to. I thought I ran into a bug when I imported my fill ups from my old phone, so I contacted the developer and he kindly pointed out that I forgot to change the mileage input setting (trip vs total odometer) on my new phone. After "fixing" that, it works perfectly again!

A Google User: Backup FAIL Be careful with backup if you have more than 1 car with different measures (miles and km). My km car data it's completely messed up. Big FAIL for me because I have 4 vehicles and only one (miles) is OK.

Kevin Kiejko: Can't import data, no response from developer Bought the app (mistake #1) and tried to import years of data for my vehicles (the data was formatted correctly), but the app kept erroring out with no explanation. Tried to contact the developer for assistance (several times over a one month period) with no response. Can't get a refund. Probably a good app if you are starting of fresh, but don't buy if you have existing data you want to import.

A Google User: Do not get I tried entering fuel dates, but if I did not enter them in order it modified my values with random numbers. there is no way this program ever change the values you give it. after spending a great deal of time entering in value I've returned later to find them changed!

Chris Markley: Great application Application used to be spectacular, but needs to be updated. On KitKat OS the data entry isn't as great as it used to be causing you as a user to have more clicks than are necessary. App hasn't been updated in nearly 3 years and could use a refresh. Dropping it from 5 stars.

errol hassan: Does not work with Samsung galaxy s7edge Developers email address seems to be non existant as wanted to get an answer as to why i cannot get the options tab anymore. Cannot import or export data since changing my phone and tried writing to this guy but his email address is either incorrect or has deleted it. Did really enjoy using this app until now. Do not buy if you need to be able to save your data using the new galaxy S7edge phone and probably the std S7 as well.

Prasanna Venkatesh: Menu button missing on screen Menu option is not available on the screen to use in lollipop mobile. Have been using it till now...but afraid as I couldn't import my older information. In my recent mobile I don't have the explicit menu button to pull out the settings. Badly need an update with an on screen settings button. Will give you 5 stars after the update.

A Google User: awesome app for tracking mpg & other costs! easy to use and the graphing feature helps give a visual understanding of the data. it's also smart enough to add fuel/miles on partial fillups towards the next fillup's calculations.

Kurtis Overdorf: No data backup I like the layout and simplicity. However, not having the ability to backup your data even locally is a pain. All I really want to do is pull a file with my data. I understand paying for cloud backup or auto backup but offering the ability to recover data locally for free should be offered. Not paying for Pro since a friend paid for pro and lost a years worth of data after the app claimed to have backed it all up.

Scott Anderson: Does not work on newer Samsung Galaxy devices I've used this app for a long time, but unfortunately it appears this app is no longer updated. On the Samsung Galaxy 5, Android 4.x and 5.x, there is no way to access the menu to add vehicles, adjust settings or anything. It was a good run, but unless you have a hard menu key on your phone, you won't be able to access the menu system.

: Developer Does NOT Assist Seems like a fairly decent app but I have lots of data from another app in BlackBerry apps and developer advertises that he will assist with csv import process. Well, that's a flat out lie and false advertising! I've emailed him 5 times - no response. Thanks for nothing. Will apply for refund. LIAR.

A Google User: Fuel Log Backup overall this is a great app, however, I purchased the pro version so I could backup to my SD card but unfortunately, it only backs up to the internal storage. Once you select export, it says it was successfully exported in a CSV file to SD card but the reality is it only sends it to internal storage not SD card. This is ok except for false advertising but My Cars does this on the free version so waste of money to purchase Fuel Log.

Bill Ellis: Works Great! Installed on My Samsung Galaxy S3. Tried out the Free version and it is Awesome. Shelled out the cash for the extra features. Well Worth it. Thanks!

Michael Klein: Samsung Galaxy Note 5 I' ve used the Pro verison for two years, and would give 5 stars if there was a better method to backup data and transfer data to new or other devices. I was able to do data trans. before on other devices through import/export selection within the settings menu. There is not a menu trigger to be found, for the Note 5... Please fix and come up with better backup and transfer data method, possibly a backup to "Dropbox".

Tim Horner: Great App. Needs Update! This app does what it says, and it does it very well. Unfortunately, it hasn't been updated in nearly two years! Hence my 2 star rating. I do have the Pro key, and use the app every week - but it needs to be updated! Specifically, it need the ability to upload to the cloud (dropbox, googledrive, etc...). A fresh UI and icon wouldn't hurt either.

Del Fernandes: This app works fine but the developers got very nasty, evil, and mean by not allowing backup of logs unless you pay!!! This is quite disappointing. I now have a lot of data that will be lost on my old cell unless I give someone $$$$ money $$$$$. Isn't there any law to prevent this type of "deceiving extortion"?

A Google User: Nice! Works flawless! My only grip about the app is when you imput the price of gas it doest calculate it correctly, and will show more per gallon than what ive spent. Also you should have partial fillup calculating for MPG. Not evers rich and cant fill their tank up rv5

Mike Boscarino: Workaround FIX for S5, 6 & 7 Kudos to user Nate Patrick for posting this easy workaround! This will actually help in other apps as well. Go to Settings: Accessibility: Dexterity and interaction: Assistant menu and turn that on. You can turn on Assistant Plus as well. Then open fuel log, you will see a little blue and white bubble that you can click on. Look through that menu until you find More options, and that will bring up the fuel log settings!

Wilf Knewstubb: Flawed A handy app with a good UI. BUT - a huge let-down, when It comes to backing up your data entries. A "backup" option does show in the app, but (for me) didn't seem to leave a file that could be imported when needed. I've had to manually type all my info; twice now. A real pain!!

A Google User: Great App So easy to use and displays costs etc in many different ways, just fuel or including other costs. Driving slower and planning ahead now and getting 70mpg as average economy (managed 85 on one occasion but probably didn't quite fill tank). Just annoys me that I still have to pay road tax for my 1998 1.5d pug when it's so efficient.

Allen Sullivan: Good App - Howerve Needs to be able to backup to a SD card or even your Google drive or Drop Box would even be better. Right now mine backs up to the phone, useless if the phone crashes. So I have to try to remember to move the files to the SD card then to my Drop box.. I'm running 4.4.4 On Samsung Galaxy Note 4

king of the world: Use it for all my vehicles I use this app for all my vehicles. It has all the information I'm interested in all in one place. It's easy to set up and use. Great App. The only issue, as mentioned in other reviews is the dot button going missing...easy fix though, just change the keyboard layout.

Jeoffry Ross: Lost multiple vehicles ability I used to be able to track all 3 vehicles fuel. After upgrading to a note 5 last year, i could only add one vehicle. I can't access a settings menu either. I'm afraid to uninstall and loose all my saved data. I haven't found a fuel tracker that is as good as this one was.

Daniel Beekhuizen: Entries get corrupted Would be a nice app but completely broken. Entered 22 fuel bills with trip kms noted on them with one entered out of sequence. Now i get entries with huge km values which i can edit, but then move to another entry... Some sort of DB corruption it appears. Also shows 'invalid date' on one entry, surely app should be able to do a date sort?

Jerimiah Reece: Fuel Log Pro Love the app. But I just got a Samsung Edge S7 and this app has no settings menu. It did in my old Droid turbo and I backed up the csv file. But there is no option to restore it on the new S7 Edge. Why is the settings menu gone?

A Google User: No MPG calcs on partial fill ups. Kind of pointless bc it doesn't use partial fill ups in calculations of mpg, only full tank fill ups. I don't always let my tank go all the way down to the bottom, if I see cheap gas when I'm half full, I fill up. It's bad 4 engine 2 drive on near empty anyway.

Jennifairy Gillett: Almost perfect Been using for over a year, excellent app. Would like to see support for travel reimbursements in the Costs section - have emailed dev about this but seems uninterested in adding this tweak. Adding a negative number is all it would take, how hard can it be? Hasn't been updated for 2 years now so not holding my breath.

paul schofield: Love it Works great without being too glitzy. I can log both cars too. Only annoying thing since new phone or upgrade, is there is I have to click 'symbol' to type a decimal point, then 'text' to carry on. Didn't have to do that before!!

Michael Schultz: No more updates had made this app garbage. I have the paid version and can't import my old data to my new phone. I really liked this app and am disappointed that it no longer works for me.

Jeff Benton: Loved tge app enough that I bought the pro version years ago and tracked my 3 vehicles. Changed phones 2 years ago and now I can only track one vehicle. Haven't been able to resolve the issue for 2 years. Uninstalling. I will find a different tracker.

Cloud Strife: Excellent fuel app! Buy pro! A great app! Graphs show if you drove lead footed and also you can tell how weather can affect milage. Im a licenced dealer tech and always show trouble customers this app to prove its not the car its them!

Marty P: Problems with Kitkat Was great on my Galaxy S3 but on my S5 it doesn't have an on screen options menu for importing the data or accessing settings.

Sean Smith: No support from developer! I paid for this app only to find there is absolutely no support from the developer. I had to change phones and there is no way that I can find to get two years of data to the new phone. This has happened twice now. Emails to the developer have gone unanswered a half dozen times over two years. Don't waste your time, money, or data.

Jason Head: Great but not updated. I have used this app for several years but am no longer able to. With Android Kit Kat and prior you could hold down the Recents button to access an apps menu. In Lollipop that was removed but a floating button was added to accomodate legacy apps that still needed to be updated. Now with Marshmallow, that accomodation for legacy apps has been removed. As such, I can no longer use this app with my Galaxy S7 Edge as it has not been updated in almost 5 years.

A Google User: Uninstalled and re installed and it works now ? Maybe I suck and did something wrong ? This corrects my previous review.\tThis app sux , enter in each set fuel info, and the mileage changes on other entries each time you correct it , it changes miles on another entry, I k

Miroslav Vuković: Stats for certain period Very useful application. Until now I've been used xls sheet to calculate car consumption and other stats. Only thing missing is statistics calculation for certain period of time. I got data from 2011 until now and stats shown are for all entries entered. And for that period of time fuel price changed for 25%.
