By selecting your camera, an aspect ratio and a list of lenses, Artemis allows you to compose shots with the same field of view as the camera/lenses you will be shooting with. You can then save images, complete with focal length, GPS data, compass heading, tilt and roll, date and time, camera/lens information, and much more. A great tool for any level of filmmaker, Artemis is perfect for location scouting, storyboarding, blocking, rehearsal and preproduction.
For lenses wider than the your devices camera's field of view, Artemis adds "padding" on the screen. While this is not ideal, it's our best solution for getting around the limitations of the camera in your device.
Artemis has been field tested with every camera in our database to make sure that the field of view is correct. No other multiformat director's viewfinder has as many camera specific formats or lens sets.
Please note that field of view is measured from the "nodal point", roughly mid way down the length of the lens, in keeping with the method used by lens manufacturers.

Cheers!

Leonardo Ruiz: Gs4 Just started using it...has help me and my crew to see what we want.

Ari Schaeffer: Almost there... Obviously a killer little app.. My issue is no spot metering in the viewfinder on an HTC one so everything is blown out..(see update) Update 11/14: one update later and the dev addresses the exposure issues I was having. I'm impressed!

Halilu Bala: Seem's useful Good for standard configuration cameras however I'm having some trouble figuring out how to create a custom camera I wish there was support for 5D Mark 3 magick lantern 1.35:1 aspect ratio will update if I figure things out

Jesse Parker: Nice variables on different cameras and lense allications. Love this app. It let's me use the same camera and lense brands together that we use to shoot our shows. I don't have to bother the operators to get my frame look with the lighting.

A Google User: No merk Indonesian product More better... thx

Stephen Higgins: Very dodgy Loved the idea of this. But you end up spending more time figuring out why it doesn't quite work than having it serve creativity. Lot of work to be done to justify its price, especially on the note 3, which is the ideal platform for it.

Brooks Reynolds: Great app. Needs to be more stable. I'm DPing a film right now and needed a solution to help the director with what the lenses would allow us to do. This is really handy for that. BUT... it often takes several minutes to load. Freezes at times. I've even had the video feed start scrolling so the top half of the image was on the bottom half and the bottom half on the top. I hope these problems can get fixed and we'll have a seriously awesome tool around at all times.

Liam Ward: Great app but... It's a fantastic app when it works. Just like many other users, I'm also having trouble with the app launching properly. It has a lot of trouble getting past the splash screen on my S4 and has been that way for 2 versions now.

Ada Reinthal: Great, great app; but.. ...keeps crashing on my brand new Nexus 4. I get it up and running, get my camera settings done, take the photo but when I hit save I get the annoying "Unfortunately Artemis has stopped working" about half of the time. || edit: the developers got in touch with me within 24h and have been working hard to supply me with beta builds top try and resolve issues. The main one mentioned above seems to have been fixed and any minor ones I am sure will be gone with the next official update. Amazing customer service for a great app. Upped from 3 to 4 stars, most probably will get to 5 with the next official update.

Vishal Malhotra: Low rent Hate this app. Wish I could d get a refund. It never gets past the splash screen.

john smith: Errors Start app, black screen, then error message... unfortunately artemis has stoped... 20eur for app i cant use... hm... Crap!

KUMAR C: SOFTWAR DOSE NOT WORK. HANGS VERY VERY BAD

reghu shanker: Crashing all the time! Whenever I take the picture for the second time it crashes. The plus and minus buttons disappears some times when I try to change the lens even if there are enough lenses to change. I am using a moto Atrix 2 mobile with Android 4.04. I have send a crash report. Please respond , I have shoot approaching soon.

Eunsoo Robin Cho: Horrible with htc one It takes forever to open and even when it does it doesn't save photos and changes the view that I never know how to quiy. This app doesn't work well with htc one.

Michael Winokur: Excellent Support I wrote a review in this very spot mentioning that Artemis was crashing on my Galaxy Nexus and not playing well with Camera or Instagram. Not only did Chemical Wedding reply to my review, they worked on the problem and set out a new build which seems to solve the problem. This was well beyond what I expected from them. Very impressed.

A Google User: Very useful Update works well. Please polish the UI

Himantha Yasawardana: Good App Limited By Your Phones Cam Installed this app on my Xperia P. Worked quite OK. Had to callibrate the view angles of my phones cam manually. But the app itself given lateral and vertical tilt angles so it can be done. 16:9 aspect ratio given me maximum wide angle 25mm and 3:2 (full frame dslr still) only 51mm at its widest. Other than that accuracy and features were satisfactory.

neal rogers: Great tool

Gunasekhar Karri: Useful Useful

Emilie Palamides: Ignorance People who don't know how to use a gallery should avoid photography, filmmaking, and especially location scouting for such. I work in Film, TV, and commercials and use Artemis for every job even if its as simple as testing a camera move. This is the most useful app for production on the Android market to date.

Thomas Ford: Not worth the money For an app that costs £20 it lacks simple functions, the gallery can only hold one picture at a time, obviously when location scouting you want to store more than one picture at a time. Don't buy this app.

Ed David: Amazing idea This is amazing. Innovatung. Genius. Thanks for bringing to android.

A Google User: Kārlis The best app for preproduction and production.

A Google User: Great app Some minor annoyances in a few places, would be nice have favorite lens and camera setups for multi camera shoots, but otherwise a great addition to any kit

A Google User: very good follow up.....by the artemis team!!!! hi, grt feedback frm the team. Some initial technical setback on my galaxy note was quickly fixed by the artemis team. now the new improved versions works completely fine and i think this is one of the best apps for the film makers, DOP's ...... however some settings if it helps to capture video clips instead of only still images (as it is right now) would really help in further improving this app......cheers would look forward to any new improvements and up gradation of the apps.

A Google User: Invaluable!! I am a TV drama director and I can no longer live without Artemis both in prep and on the set. Support (my fault, not Artemis') was immediate and spot on.

A Google User: Hi guys This app sucks, I work in the tv and film industry and it is not worth buying it is a serious waste of money, don't buy it!!!

A Google User: Awesome application and the last update really makes it up-to-date!

A Google User: Great production tool app. Love it. Has come in handy on many a scout and blocking. Others, quit whining about blocky images on simulated long lens blocking. It is a cell phone camera you are holding, not a DSLR! You can even customize. I recommend.

A Google User: Amazing!! Just what I needed for this forced perspective shot I had to prep but didn't have access to the camera. Worked perfectly. Thank you!!! Camera turns off fine for me when I exit app by hitting home or quit..

A Google User: Works well Latest version fixed lots of issues. The trick for me was to uninstall the old version first and reinstall. Or could have been my phone needed a reboot post upgrade. The developer is very proactive on fixing issue.
